So I get these advertisements sometimes from this site www.blog2print.com and they are always doing a promotion on making a blog into a book. You can get it made into a hardback, soft cover, or digital format. The digital format is only $8.95 and has unlimited page numbers! The other 2 formats have 20 pages, and it’s 30 cents per extra page.
Anyhow, this got me thinking, it could be a great solution for helping you to publish your 1st book for cheap. Once you have your book formatted and everything, you could upload it to Amazon’s self publishing platform called www.CreateSpace.com and then you could share it to friends, ask them to write reviews and to share it. Either way, it’s a great way to move toward your creative goals.
Especially if it’s something God has laid on your heart. If it’s something God is directing, sometimes it’s good to just start walking in that direction of obedience and put aside your excuses. You ARE a writer, so write stuff. You ARE an artist so make stuff. God will direct you as you go. He will give you wisdom and divine connections to get your stuff in front of the right people at the right time. Just create it, it’s in your God given nature. Don’t frustrate that nature in yourself any longer.
God gave me a song the other night, part of the words were, “You gotta put one foot in front of the other…” I hear it in my head right now and it encourages me to keep going and not listen to those discouraging voices and spirits floating around in the atmosphere. They’re invisible, but they’re there. They make you feel like giving up altogether on your dreams and the good things you’ve heard God whisper to you on better days.
We’ve got to encourage ourselves in the Lord, and make reminders for ourselves for those hard days, the battle days. The truth is, I’ve been creating stuff for years in secret. But I think it might be time to start sharing.
As I was reading the email from www.blog2print.com I was reminded about this site www.canva.com where you can use all kinds of cool templates to make various digitally published books, printables, cards, all sorts of things. You can create an ebook with their format for free. Which is awesome. So really, what excuses do we have left? Love, -Em
